About the client:
ACTS is a growing tech company in Curaçao that works for localgovernments in the Dutch Antilles. They design, develop and maintain government applications in the legal, justice, finance and other departments for the islands.
Since a few years they have been working with teams from Colombia, since the island does not have sufficient qualified people to support the growth of the company. Instead of working with Colombian tech companies to outsource their work, they changed their approach and are hiring their own team in Colombia.
In the last couple of years Conexión has been hiring developersand system administrators for ACTS. Currently they have 10 people in Colombia. ACTS just finalized their legal entity and provides a Colombian payroll, including the local benefits (health, pension, vacation, prima, cesantias etc).
In some situations, employees in Colombia are asked to visit the island for a week or more. This is to get familiar with the way of working and the team. ACTS takes care of the cost for these trips.
