The Colombian operation is growing and professionalizing in all aspects of the business. In the last three years the company has added many new positions which has impacted the growth successfully.

For the Antioquia operation, the company is looking for a Junior Agricultural Engineer. This role is responsible for the quality of the key processes and works hand in hand with the team in Las Sabanas (Cundinamarca) and the Netherlands.

Main Functions:

Agronomic Management of the Crop:

• Implement and supervise planting, staking, irrigation, lighting, nutrition, and harvesting in experimental plots.
• Ensure optimal plant development at each stage of the breeding process.

Support for Breeding Activities:

• Execute phenotypic evaluation protocols in the field and greenhouse. Maintain detailed records of morphological, productive, and health characteristics of the plants under trial.
• Collaborate in the selection and elimination of non-competitive lines.

Pest and Disease Management:

• Continuously monitor the presence of pests and diseases. 
• Apply integrated management strategies, with an emphasis on sustainability and prevention.

Technical Information Management:

• Record data on digital platforms, field sheets, or specialized software.
• Participate in the analysis of results and the generation of technical reports. Coordinate with other departments. Support the propagation team in the multiplication of selected lines.
• Prepare samples for sales presentations, external trials, or demonstration displays.

Innovation and continuous improvement:

• Propose improvements to agronomic and experimental processes. 
• Stay up-to-date on new agronomic technologies and trends in the floriculture market.

Candidate Profile:

Education: Agricultural Engineer.

Experience: Minimum 3-4 years in floriculture, ideally in research, production, or breeding.

Specific Knowledge: Chrysanthemum management, plant health, plant nutrition, agronomic data recording, and trial protocols.

Technical Skills: Detailed observation, technical discipline, teamwork, effective communication, and results-oriented.

Soft Skills: Results-oriented mindset, planning and organization skills, enthusiasm and proactivity, careful and confidential handling of sensitive data and knowledge, strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

English Level: B1
