The US business and the North Carolina operation has been growing fast. Currently the company is at the point that several key positions are needed to build the infrastructure and processes to achieve the growth ambitions in the next years.

The Position

The Head of Accounting is responsible for leading all aspects of the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and technical accounting compliance. This leader ensures the integrity of the general ledger, the accuracy of reported financial results, and strict adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., GAAP, SEC/SOX). They are a key strategic partner to the Controller and CFO.

Key Areas of Responsibility (KRA)

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Oversee the entire monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

• Direct the preparation of all internal and external financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.

• Maintain and enforce a robust internal control framework in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance requirements.

Technical Accounting & Policy

• Serve as the primary authority on all technical accounting matters.

• Research, analyze, and document the company's position on complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, debt, equity, mergers/acquisitions) in accordance with local frameworks, etc.

• Develop and maintain corporate accounting policies and procedures.

Leadership & Operations

• Lead, mentor & develop the corporate accounting team (A/P, A/R, Payroll, General Ledger, Tax, etc.).

• Manage the relationship with external auditors, acting as the primary point of contact for the annual audit and quarterly reviews.

• Drive continuous improvement and optimization of accounting systems (ERP) and processes to increase efficiency and control.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Master preferred.

• Certification: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) would be nice but is not required.

• Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in head of accounting role. International experience is a huge plus.

• Industry: Experience in the company's specific industry (e.g., Manufacturing).

• Executive Presence: Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and persuasively to the Controller and CFO, and non-financial stakeholders.

• Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Capacity to see beyond the numbers, provide insights into business performance, and advise on strategic decisions.

• Change Management: Proven success in transforming and scaling accounting functions, implementing new ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), or integrating acquisitions.

• Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail required for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.

• Integrity: Unquestionable ethical standards and professional integrity.
