Our team at Conexión is looking for a General Manager who gets what it means to run a boutique, tight-knit operation at a high service level. Not someone who manages from behind a desk. Someone who knows every corner of the property, knows their team by name, and still finds time to have a real conversation with a guest at the bar.

What the job actually looks like

You'll oversee both Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort and our adjacent MVC property, with roughly 150 international workers across both. Your management team is strong, experienced international professionals running the restaurant, kitchen, and F&B operations. They don't need hand-holding. They need a GM who shares the vision, sets the bar, coaches when needed, backs them up, and removes obstacles.

Day-to-day you're running the full business: operations, revenue, financial reporting, guest experience, and team development. You'll report directly to the owner, who is Dutch, has been in Aruba for over 40 years, and runs a straight-talking, entrepreneurial shop. No layers. No corporate theater. Just honest conversations about what's working and what needs to change or could improve.

A big part of your guest mix is from the US; both hotel guests and American cruise visitors are spending time with us. You need to read a room, move between cultures naturally, and make everyone feel like they chose the right place.

What we're looking for

You've been doing this for at least 15 years and have run a hotel before, not just a department. You know your P&L, you know how to manage ADR and RevPAR without sacrificing the guest experience, and you're comfortable presenting financials to an owner who will ask sharp questions.

You're bilingual in English and Spanish. Any other languages are welcomed, and learning Papiamento is stimulated. We also welcome a GM with excellent experience in using technology in all parts of the operation. From POS systems (Aloha) to inventory management software (Yellow Dog) and financial software, you are a big believer in the impact of technology for the operations and the results.

You understand the Caribbean. Ideally Aruba specifically. The pace, the culture, and the mix of Aruban, Dutch, and international colleagues on one team. You know how to get the best out of people who come from very different places and work very differently.

You're not someone who needs a lot of structure to function. You create structure. You spot what's off before anyone tells you. And when something goes wrong in front of a guest, you handle it personally.

F&B experience matters here. With their high-volume restaurants and beach bar central to the guest experience, a GM who genuinely understands food and beverage operations will have a much stronger match with the role than one who doesn't.
