Position Summary
The Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a key leadership role in supporting the Food & Beverage Manager to deliver exceptional dining experiences that reflect Marriott brand standards. This position oversees daily operations, coaches and motivates service teams, and ensures consistent quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. The supervisor actively manages labor and operational costs while driving revenue growth through service excellence, upselling, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Approach all interactions with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Ensure all employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and professional toward guests, coworkers, and managers.
Maintain regular attendance; the work schedule may vary according to operational needs.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag at all times.
Comply with all policies and regulations to ensure safe, efficient, and professional hotel operations.
Understand the organization and the function of each department to support smooth operations.
Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in controlling and monitoring food and beverage costs.
Maintain close communication with staff, encouraging input on F&B operations and serving as a motivating influence.
Monitor and address servers’ cash overages and shortages promptly.
Maintain service standards across the department through quality control tools, coaching sessions, and regular training.
Respond promptly to accidents, operational issues, or guest complaints in the Food & Beverage Department.
Be familiar with emergency procedures, including the location of fire extinguishers, exits, and safety protocols.
Apply consistent disciplinary actions and performance management for all F&B employees.
Maintain proficiency with the hotel’s POS system and related operational tools.
Assist in preparing wage progress reports, productivity reports, and department scheduling according to business forecasts while maintaining budget and guest service standards.
Support monthly food and beverage inventories and reconciliations.
Ensure completion of side work and station responsibilities by all service personnel.
Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in developing promotional ideas, sales initiatives, and upselling strategies for the department.
Help plan and organize monthly department meetings, pre-shift briefings, and other management-required meetings and participate in weekly Food & Beverage meetings and other relevant operational meetings.
Assist in preparing and conducting employee performance appraisals in coordination with management.
Support the Food & Beverage Manager in maintaining and improving the quality, presentation, and consistency of all food products.

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hotel, or related hospitality field.
High School diploma or equivalent required; further education in hospitality or business is a plus.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamentu is a strong advantage.
Ability to clearly convey information and ideas to guests, coworkers, and management.
Strong decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Demonstrated initiative, anticipating operational needs and completing tasks proactively.
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced, and stressful situations while maintaining composure and objectivity.
Strong problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as they arise.
Ability to assimilate complex information from multiple sources and adjust plans to meet operational or guest requirements.
Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns raised by coworkers and guests.
Comfortable working with financial information and data, including performing basic arithmetic and analyzing operational reports.
